Last night was AWESOME at Cafe Sevilla – It’s All about the Kids was the charity for the Cafe Sevilla Grand Opening Party. WOW. Cafe Sevilla rolled out the red carpet …guests were lined up down the street! Over 475 guests enjoyed the best Grand Opening in the Gaslamp this summer! As soon as guests entered, they received a glass of sangria and a tray passed delectable. Usually, at Grand Openings, inside is a mad house with a line at the bar….not at Cafe Sevilla. Their amazing service overflowed! Beautiful waiters continued to tray pass drinks and fantastic food all night long. The Paella was out of this world..as was the entertainment. The Children’s Flamenco Show by Paloma Aragon Art Flamenco was SO WONDERFUL. They danced in honor of It’s All About the Kids. Guests were Salsa dancing until 1am! The live Flamenco rumba sets’ music carried out onto 5th ave. What a first class party! We raised over $11,000 for programs for It’s All About the Kids ! With a late night donation of $1000, the night was more than a great success. Thank you to all our volunteers and our photographers, Jackson, Theresa, TJ and John. Last year, for the first year, we had an artist paint at our Playboy Mansion party. Mark Richmond painted two awesome painting. This year, Dave Dickey is going to paint live. I can’t wait. He has supported our charity for many years, donating paintings and even teaching art classes. He is so very generous to our charity ! The piece of art he will be painting will be auctioned off. We are so lucky to have Dave at our event and a part of our family. He will have a few more items for us to marvel over at the party that will be available for auction as well.
Scotty Ziegler is another artist who will have his art in our auction. We will be displaying his art throughout the backyard as well as in the cabanas. His art mirrors our theme! From the first time that I walked into the Vault downtown, their private venue, I continue to be amazed by Scotty’s art and thought…I think that Hef would love his art. So, we requested to hang art in Mr. Hefner’s cabana at the party. Mr. Hefner choose “Winner’s Circle” . So exciting! I love that one! CLICK HERE TO VIEW HIS CHOICE !
BODY PAINT! OOH LA LA! The lovelies being body painted this year, Shannon, Genevieve, Natalie of the LA Temptations and a secret choice – are so excited for this year – and ladies, we are too! I spoke to Brian today and he and Gwendolyn went CRAZY in the LA garment district and bought every cool stone and rhinestone known to man! The girls are going to be edgy and VERY NAUGHTY. Brian, Gwendolyn and their team are set to blow us away again this year. I will be posting photos of the lovelies in a few days….
BRIAN OLEA of the Playboy Mansion is invading San Diego this weekend. He needed some SD love, so he is headed our way! Gonna show him a great time with the girls and come up with some new amazing ideas for the party. We also have a special launch at the party that I can’t talk about right now…stay tuned. You will love it.

Today was about GIRLS! So excited for the LA Temptation Football Team to be joining us..and now we will have more Playboy Cyber Girls, Playboy Live Girls and Lingerie Models ! Corsets and garters abound! The best part is that they are not only HOT, but super nice girls. You know, sometimes LA girls can be snooty…sorry, but that is true. These girls are personable and LOVE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME! You will find them all four parties! Rumor has it that they often lose their tops in Hef’s pool!
VIP Hostess Annan came over and we assigned the Penthouses on the top floor of the Hyatt Century Plaza. They sold out fast! The Penthouse floor is the party floor! With folks from the Oklahoma Party Crew, Arizona, Texas and the Fluffernutter’s, it is going to get crazy up on the 19th in a few weeks. A new GM is starting at the Hyatt, so we will break him in nicely.
We sold a bunch of tickets today, so don’t delay…if you have already purchased yours, post it on your facebook and tell the world! Bring your crew! If you keep this to yourself and they find out, they will not want to hang out. Plus, they won’t be able to tolerate looking at the photos after you get back and brag about all the outstanding women there were. If you tell them that you bought a body painted beauty at the auction on Friday Night and then got to help paint her on stage at the party, they will hate on you for years – or just end the friendship all together. So, share this with everyone you know and bring your entourage!

TGIF! I drove home from Phoenix this morning…at dawn..and it was gorgeous across the desert. Returned my wonderful rental car to the great guys at Enterprise El Cajon and wanted to go to the ocean..I needed to see the ocean! It was 109 degrees in Arizona…yuk! Went to the heat to take care of my Mom – she has some planned major surgery. She is doing great and recovering wonderfully. She sent me back with her special magical rumcakes . yummy! But, it was time to get out of the heat! Too hot for me!…I hate heat…except for PLAYBOY MANSION HEAT! That is my favorite!
HOT ! HOT! Heard that Opening Day at Del Mar was a HOT ONE! Hot Partying for a Purpose hostesses! Janine, Laurel, Sharon, and Kimberly rocked a private box [thanks, Janine] and spread the word about the Ooh La La Party . Heard the Janine is talking to all the trainers, owners and jockeys at Del Mar about attending the Party. Don’t be surprised at the party if you look over and see a Kentucky Derby winning trainer standing next to you !
Celebrities, celebrities…I get requests from publicists for celebs…wanting them to attend our party…so now I get to forward the list to the Mansion for approval and then send back the celeb info. Tons of details! Just sent a request to the manager of Javier Colon..the Voice ! Requested a bunch more celebs, so I will have to see who wants to Ooh La La with us!
Our final countdown is well under way. Guests do not receive tickets, instead, guests are on our Guest List. All the details are revealed when you buy a ticket…I can’t tell you everything here!

29 days and counting! Now the real productions starts! It is time to order all the ‘stuff’ that is needed for the party! I have to check with our great sponsors – Leo of St. Petersburg Vodka and Enrico of Casa Noble – to get the booze together for the Friday Night VIP Party. This is year number 3 withe Leo and 5 with Enrico? Has it been 5 or more? I can’t remember? Too much amazing tequila over the years with Enrico. Getting the pool parties together is a blast. We have the best DJ’s for the whole weekend..can’t wait! I need to make sure we have equipment by the pool and that all the cabanas are reserved. I have so much planned and want to tell everyone but….I can’t. I want things to be a surprise! After 8 years, I have to out-do the last..and that has gotten hard. Giving Mr. Hefner the Taking Care of Business Award last year was the highlight of my life professionally and so this year…wow, it has been hard. So, I thought that the Red Light District would be fun – and our Partying for a Purpose hostesses, led by Annan, AnneMarie, Annie, Emely, Laura, Janine, and Laurel have had lots of great ideas…so, guys, anticipate seeing a lot..or a little..tassles, vinyl and bad girl accessories.
Lots left to do today..gotta check up on our host Melissa Dawn Taylor who just got back from family vacation in Texas! We need to talk about the party and Mr. Hefner’s invitation. And invites for Cooper and Marston, too. I am also going to be up at the Playboy Mansion in early August..maybe we can go together !
I have to admit, everyone I go up the driveway, I feel the same feelings as the first time…a tingling all through my body and the thoughts..’is this real?’. It never goes away. I love going up to the Mansion for meetings because working with the folks there is amazing. They want me to have the best party possible..and every year, I ask for more, and they have slowly gained confidence in me and given me what I want ! lol! I also love to see Chef Carter. He is the Executive Chef for Mr. Hefner and the Playboy Mansion. Each year, he creates a marvelous menu that reflects the theme. I am looking forward to seeing what he has created for our Red Light District. I remember him telling me once that he studied under a French chef, so I was thrilled to tell him about this year’s theme when we were at the Mansion for the last meeting. I love going into the kitchen to visit him and see the daily workings of the Playboy Mansion. It is quite something, that is for sure.
Did anyone see the special on E TV last night? The fab Brian and Guy had a few scenes..I only caught a few minutes at the beginning. I have to watch the whole show again. The hard part about reality is that sometimes they don’t show the REAL REALITY…so I hope that E Tv did the right thing…Mr. Hefner is a generous and thoughtful person!

Shawn Heyl and I had lunch with Tony and Robin last month in Los Angeles – they are awesome. We are even going to take them with us when we go for a meeting at the Mansion next month. I got an email from JES…yes, JES. Met her in LA last month as well. Her and her manager, Tom, are fantastic. I was impressed with how lovely they were. She, too, wants to help us with the kids here in San Diego. They are going to love her as much as we do. I am working hard on her stage production for her set. All you guests are going to love it. I am so excited! 30 days away!
And Dee from the Oklahoma Party Crew called yesterday. That group of OUT OF THIS WORLD folks from the south make our party a total blast each year. While in Vegas with them last year, I changed the name of their group to the Oklahoma WRECKING Crew! Why? If you know them, then you will know….we wrecked Vegas..it was one of the best times I have ever had there. We celebrated Shreck’s birthday and I got to meet a whole new group of classy folks. So looking forward to partying down with everyone this year..we start on Thursday and go thru Monday…unless you all want to come down the 405/5 to San Diego after! We would LOVE to have you and continue the party!

Wow, I can’t believe that the 8th annual Partying for a Purpose summer fundraiser is almost here! This year…we are invading LA again! On August 19-21, 2011, Partying for a Purpose will INVADE the Hyatt Century Plaza. I am so excited to see all of our fabulous international guests and throw another EPIC event at Hef’s house.
This year’s party weekend is going to be OUT OF HAND….the burlesque theme is bringing out the sexy sexy corsets and fishnets ! All the guys are wondering what to wear…suspenders and Fedoras! Ben from C hristys London is bringing a bunch of fabulous Fedoras for all the guys…and the girls. Look poolside at all the Hyatt Parties.
